“His mind is a seemingly endless source of hooky, guitar driven concoctions... Another winner from a prolific writer who just keeps getting better and better.”
#11 on Top 15 Power Pop Albums of 2025
“What makes Shungite work is how honest it feels, it’s Turgeon taking the sounds that shaped him and putting them forward as his own. For anyone who still has a soft spot for that stretch of 90s rock, there’s plenty here to dig into.”
— Pitch Perfect
“US artist continues to shine on anthemic new EP... With 'Shungite', Richard Turgeon has turned up the volume, dirtied the edges, and found a new gear. It’s a collection that celebrates the guitar as a driving force, propelling him into his boldest territory yet.”
- Mystic Sons
“100 mph in you face excellence that changes direction at will without ever calming down… Shungite is a cracking listen... the whole thing is a celebration of the joy of the guitar.”
— I Don’t Hear a Single
“Shungite is more reliably great work from Richard Turgeon.”
In depth interview with Mike Kidskin at Woody Radio
“A SOLID AND APPEALING RECORD, A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT… THIS COULD BE HIS BEST WORK TO DATE.”
“CONSISTENTLY BRILLIANT AND UNWAVERINGLY MELODIC.”
“A MATURE ARTIST IN CONTROL OF HIS MUSE.”
“A CRACKING ALBUM.”

I’m an indie rock musician / producer and Bigfoot enthusiast based in Marin County, San Francisco.
Richard Turgeon is a Marin County, CA-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist making melodic, guitar-driven indie rock with a ‘90s edge—think Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., early R.E.M., and Nirvana.
A prolific independent artist, he’s released multiple acclaimed records that have earned international press and regular airplay, including SiriusXM. His music has also appeared in indie film soundtracks.
Turgeon’s work has drawn attention from artists he grew up on—Pavement co-founder Scott Kannberg shared his cover/video of “Date with IKEA,” and in 2024, he played drums for Donnie Emerson (Dreamin’ Wild), one of his longtime musical heroes.
He’s currently performing with his band RT3, bringing a tight, dynamic live set built around strong hooks, harmonies, and a raw, immediate feel.
Since 2017, I’ve released 7 LPs and EPs, 2 collections of covers—the most recent available only on Spotify.
My entire catalog is available on my Bandcamp page—please buy there first since you can add a donation and get the entire catalog for a discount (artists also get paid there the most).
My records are also available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major music and streaming services.
