I got my first paying gig as the lead singer in a pop metal cover band at age 13, and was playing trumpet well before that. Since 1993, I’ve independently released 5 records as a singer/ songwriter, recording and mixing the last four and managing my live band, Johnstown, along the way. I’ve also played drums in a variety of San Francisco bands, including The Tenderfew. I’ve been playing in bands since I was 13 and starting learning production sometime around 2000. I put that knowledge into my own records and my first published book, Indie Rock 101: Running, Recording and Promoting Your Band, the bulk of which is around audio production. As a vocalist myself, I can help you get the best performance possible, and comp the best lead vocal track.

As a guitar player, I can help guide you through and comp up the best lead guitar tracks possible. I can also help with arrangements.
